Founded by a Dutch/Nigerian, ESOHE is a small brand inspired by Nigeria and based in Limburg, the Netherlands.
Known for its versatility in styles and authenticity in crafting handmade pieces, ESOHE works hand-in-hand with gifted artisans across Nigeria to develop exquisite fashion pieces for both Africans and non-Africans.
ESOHE offers a full collection of clothes, bags, accessories and provides custom-made services.
The ESOHE brand also incorporates crochet items handcrafted by the founder here in Europe, precisely in the Netherlands.
Material
Our materials for production are personally sourced. Since each piece is handmade, it is unique and may not be identical. However, the artisan products are created with extra care, as every piece receives careful attention without compromising quality.
ESOHE not only has her pieces made by Nigerians but also ensures to locally source some of her fabrics in Nigeria.
For example, our most prideful fabric, called "ASO-OKÉ," is locally handmade.
It was first made in Oyo State in the 15th century, but currently sourced in Lagos state, a commercial hub in Nigeria.
Our Story
The name “ESOHE,” which means “Gift from God,” comes from the Edo tribe located in the Delta plains of southern Nigeria.
With believe, the skill to make handcrafted items is a precious gift from God, acquired through immense hard work and dedication. Hence the choice for the brand name ESOHE.
The brand ESOHE was birthed from a sense of pride in Nigerian roots and a mission to showcase handcrafted items made in Nigeria to the world.
Sustainable Production
Made-To-Order
At ESOHE, we believe in creating pieces with intention. By crafting each item on a made-to-order basis, we minimize waste and lessen environmental impact, producing only what is needed and ensuring that every piece is unique to the wearer.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, we work with limited runs of fabrics. This means that the exact print featured in product images may not always be available. When you place an order, we’ll confirm fabric availability or provide you with a selection of stunning alternatives to choose from. This ensures that each creation is not only sustainable but truly personal.
Goal & Mission
Our goal is to contribute to the economic prosperity of both Nigeria and the Netherlands through the sale of handcrafted pieces.
ESOHE also aims to make Nigerian-made items easily accessible to Nigerians in the diaspora, and to have them recognized, worn, and appreciated by other Africans and non-Africans.
As we grow as a brand, our mission and dream are to give back to the Nigerian community that has inspired us. ESOHE also plans to have more of its fabrics locally made.
